September 2018 Newsletter - Kwikweb Consultants - 9 interesting points

1. DAILY FREE DESIGN: Remember, head office is sponsoring one free design per day. Just email info@kwikweb.co.za to hear if a day’s design is available. If not, try the next day.

2. HTTPS (secure sites) is now the norm and Google will heavily penalise a website that is not “secure”. Kwikweb sites gets the HTTPS SSL certificate “automatically”. You might find that your website does not show the GREEN PADLOCK (or show a warning) even though it seems to be on HTTPS. The most common reason would be if you loaded an image with an unsecure url. Here is a handy tool that will tell you why a site is not “green”: Whynopadlock.com

3. TOOLS and TRICKS of the TRADE

In your Consultants Portal there is a section called Useful and Custom links. Then it has a sub-heading called Useful Websites. Go and study it, there is gold there.

4. TRAINING MANUAL: Here is a link to a PDF training manual for new Consultants (the doc can also be found in your Consultants Portal under General Documents) https://www.kwikwaptraining.co.za/docs/Consultants%20Training%20Manual.pdf

5. OTS MODULE - better known as Off-The-Shelf module. You can activate this module and have the “Available Designs” as a page in your website. In other words you can sell the templates in a white labelled environment under your own name. See here for an example: www.vox-designs.co.za . All sales that come from that page is automatically linked to your consultants account (provided you add your consultant code at the module’s settings).

6. MANAGE WEBSITE MENUS - we have added a new tool under Website Design that enables you to easily manage the menu items. You can also make sub-menus (dropdowns) with this tool (just click on the down arrow, then drag-and-drop). We are soon going to add a More option which will allow to put the less important menu items under a menu called More.

7. NEW MOBILE MENUS - you will note that we have changed the way the Menus show when you visit a website from a phone. It even makes provision for sub-menus. No action is required from your part (but if you find issues please email technical@kwikwap.co.za )

8. MENUS ON AN IPAD (OR SMALL LAPTOPS) - on medium screens there is an “in between” section where the menu items are too many (wide) for a smallish screen yet we don’t switch the site over to the 100% mobile view yet (i.e. with the burger menu, ie those 3 horizontal lines). On these screens the menus go over two lines. In the past these lines were very close to each other. We have made it that they are further apart now. Please test your sites and if you find problems let technical@kwikwap.co.za know. You don’t even need a ipad to test, just draw your browser narrower.

9. BATCH OF LEADS - we have a batch of luke warm leads. If you want access to these leads then send your Gmail address so we can open the Google Folder for you. Send an email with subject “2018 LEADS ACCESS” to info@kwikweb.co.za. It is NB to use that Subject in the email please.
